Résumé

These proceedings contain 32 abstracts as well as 20 papers presented at this congress, held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on September 4-6, 2000. Its aim was not only to provide information on a wide variety of potato-related issues, but also to bridge the gap between science and practice (cultivation, industry, research and trade). Topics: food safety; fresh potatoes and processing; pests; seed potato production; agronomy (influences on processing quality: in-field and storage; storage diseases and pests: a strategy to improve control); breeding; marketing (logistics in the potato food chain). The proceedings include a Web-enabled CD-ROM, which provides an opportunity to download the latest information of the WP Congress from the Internet and to visit research institutes and companies involved in this field.
