Résumé

This document contains two special issues of the "Cytology" journal with over 140 long abstracts (in English or in Russian) of this conference, co-sponsored by the IIR, held in St. Petersburg (Russia). Sections were on the following: achievements of fundamental cryobiology and new approaches to cryotechnologies for reproductive medicine, preservation of genetic materials of plants, animals, microorganisms and cell cultures; preservation and employment of genetic resources of mammals (domesticated, laboratory and wild animals) with the use of cryotechnologies and other biotechnologies; low-temperature gene banks of hydrobionts and live collections of fishes, aquatic invertebrates and sea-weeds; population and molecular genetic aspects of animal gene collection sampling; equipment of cryobiological laboratories and cryobanks. The 16-page resolution of the international conference (in English and in Russian) contains analytical generalizations by Drs. V.I. Ananiev and M.S. Manohina, published in their article "New aspects in the strategies of mobilization and conservation of genetic resources" in the Bulletin "Use and Protection of natural Resources of Russia"; n. 2; 2005; 72-76.
