Résumé

Apples were harvested at three different times then stored at 1-3 °C, 85-90% relative humidity, for 5 months. Firmness, ethylene production, the distribution of calcium and potassium and ion leakage were measured. The authors concluded that Idared apples should be harvested close to the climacteric maximum for better and longer storage.
