Résumé

A study was carried out during 1999 in Belgium to investigate the effects of harvesting date and storage conditions on the quality of apple cultivars Jonica and Braeburn. Data are presented on firmness, acidity, and resistance to transport of gases. Storage of early harvested Braeburn at 1% resulted in brown core, while storage of cv. Jonica at 20% O2 resulted in mechanical damage and rot (especially in combination with low CO2).
