Influence d'un traitement à faible teneur en oxygène et de l'entreposage sous atmosphère contrôlée sur la qualité après entreposage des pommes "Granny Smith" et "Topred" cultivées en Afrique du Sud.

Effect of initial low oxygen stress treatment and CA storage at increased carbon dioxide levels on post-storage quality of South African-grown 'Granny Smith' and 'Topred' apples.

Résumé

The best results were obtained with an initial low oxygen stress (ILOS) treatment followed by CA storage at 1% O2, 3% CO2 at 1 °C without the diphenylamine (DPA) treatment. These results show that South African-grown "Topred" and "Granny Smith" apples can be stored at increased (3%) CO2 levels and higher (1 °C) storage temperature, without loss of fruit quality. Furthermore, an ILOS treatment was successfully combined with increased CO2 levels as an alternative for DPA to inhibit the development of superficial scald.
