Proceedings of this conference, held at Faenza, Italy, on October 10-12, 1996. A total of 42 papers were presented in 4 sections: economics and marketing; genetic improvement; cultural techniques and crop protection; quality, storage and processing of fruits. Some of the papers will be abstracted in a future issue of the IIR Bulletin.
