Résumé

This new edition of the report contains the results of an annual survey on milk production, industrial milk processing (world top 25 dairy companies and their dairy turnover), trade in dairy products, development of demand and consumption. Prices for 1998 are presented, along with forecasts for 1999/2000. The dairy situation in 44 individual countries is summarized. It also includes a new sector comprising the outlook on the international market for milk products, particular developments on the EU scene, and three comments from three leading figures (representing Denmark, Canada, Argentina) in the field of dairy economics.
