Résumé

IFIS is a not-for-profit organisation providing information products and services, and commissioning research and providing education in information science, for the international food science, food technology and human nutrition community. This edition of the thesaurus is a reference in this sector, as well as an invaluable search aid for users of the FSTA database. It is based on the frequency of occurrence of terms used in FSTA over the entire period of its existence (1969 onwards). A list of new terms has been incorporated into this edition which contains 8621 terms, 888 of which are non-descriptors. Historical notes indicate usage in earlier years, and scope notes explain the exact meaning of certain ambiguous terms.
