Résumé

The history of the storage of potatoes in Germany is briefly outlined. Five storage systems are described, including cellars, stores with ventilation via open doors and windows, stores with convection ventilation (in use since 1971), stores with roof ventilation (in use since 1993), and stores with roof and floor ventilation (in use since 1998).
