Summary

In this paper, an experimental study was conducted for the simultaneous heat and mass transfer process in absorption of water vapor into aqueous LiCl solution film outside a vertical tube. The effects of operational parameters such as solution flow rate, coolant inlet temperature and absorber vapor pressure on the absorption rate were tested in order to better understand the combined heat and mass transfer mechanism. The correlations of simultaneous heat and mass transfer were obtained based on experimental results, which would be useful for the design and simulation of the falling-film tube absorbers with LiCl solution.
