A ceramic storage system based on evaporative cooling.
Author(s) : AIMIUWU V. O.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The use of a fired ceramic material to cool water evaporatively many degrees below the ambient temperature in dry arid regions was previously reported by the author. The temperature of such a passive system is now compared to that of the surrounding, throughout the day. The system not only maintains a consistently lower temperature throughout but also produces a smaller daily variation. The use of the device for the storage of fresh vegetables was studied and is recommended.
