Author(s) : HOFMANN A., RUDIGER H., TAN G.
Summary
A study for the European Space Agency revealed that, with specifications of 5-watt heat transfer, an operating temperature of -80 deg C and an external temperature of 30 deg C, multilayer, high-vacuum insulation was necessary. Inner- and outer-welded containers are needed to ensure the stipulated 30-year service life.
