THE TECHNICAL AND PHYSICAL ENGINEERING SERVICE FOR AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH IN WAGENINGEN HAS DESIGNED AND BUILT EIGHT CLIMATE CABINETS, CALLED . THIS PAPER DEALS WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND THE IMPLEMENTED FUNCTIONS. EXTENSIVE TESTING OF A FUMIGATION CABINET PROTOTYPE HAS SHOWN THAT CONTROL QUALITY IS FAR BETTER THAN REQUIRED QUALITY. SOME COST ASPECTS OF THE COMPUTER SYSTEM ARE MENTIONED.
