Summary
A NEW CONCEPT OF THERMODYNAMIC CYCLE IS PROPOSED AS AN EXTENDED APPLICATION OF HEAT PIPE PRINCIPLE, AND THE CHARACTERISTICS OF HEAT ENGINE AND HEAT REJECTING SYSTEMS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THIS CYCLE ARE DISCUSSED. THIS CYCLE IS COMPOSED OF TWO ADIABATIC AND TWO CONSTANT-VOLUME CHANGES OF WORKING FLUID, AND IT TAKES PLACE ALWAYS IN A THERMODYNAMIC STATE OF SATURATED VAPOR-LIQUID TWO-PHASE CONDITIONS. SIGNIFICANT FEATURES OF THIS CYCLE, THEREFORE, ARE THAT IT REALIZES A NEW HEAT ENGINE WHICH OPERATES AT LOW TEMPERATURE RANGES WITH SMALL TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCES, AND A HEAT REJECTING SYSTEM WHICH WORKS BOTH AS A RADIATOR AND A REFRIGERATOR DEPENDING ON THE THERMAL ENVIRONMENT OF THIS SYSTEM.
