IN A REFRIGERATION INSTALLATION, COMPONENTS INFLUENCE EACH OTHER THROUGH TEMPERATURES, PRESSURES AND MASS FLOW. IN A CONTROL SYSTEM, THE MODULES CONTROLLING THE COMPONENTS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO INFLUENCE EACH OTHER AS WELL. TO THIS EXTENT, A SYSTEM-WIDE COMMUNICATION BUS IS REQUIRED. THE CONTROL ALGORITHM MAY BE PROVIDED WITH MORE DATA SOONER ; COMPLEX, EXPENSIVE COMPONENTS MAY BE REPLACED WITH COMPUTER-CONTROLLED COST EFFECTIVE COMPONENTS. MOREOVER, AS SYSTEM-WIDE DATA IS NOW AVAILABLE, A CENTRAL UNIT MONITORING THIS DATA IS ABLE TO OPTIMIZE OVERALL PERFORMANCE AND REDUCEOPERATOR INTERFERENCE.
