Summary

The paper proposed a design method of optimize the MIMO feedback controller or the vapour compression refrigeration system by applying the Linear-Quadratic Gaussiant (LQG). The LQG regulator comprises a linear quadratic estimator for estimating the state variables, a linear quadratic regulator for optimizing a cost function that includes output errors and control effort. It is needed to select four adequate matrices according to experience in the design process. The robustness of the control system with the LQG regulator was analysed. The simulation and experiment results both showed that the controlled system had strong robustness and good transient performance.
