Summary
THIS PAPER IS TO REPORT A DEFROST CONTROL DEVICE FOR ENERGY SAVING IN HEAT PUMP ROOM AIR CONDITIONERS. THE PROBLEMS OF DEFROST CONTROL ARE NOT ONLY TO DETECT FROST BUT ALSO TO JUDGE A TIMING TO START DEFROSTING DURING FROST FORMATION. TO CLARIFY THE CRITERION OF DEFROSTING, A JUDGEMENT FOR ENERGY SAVING WAS ATTEMPTED. NAMELY, THE AUTHORS PROPOSED AS A CRITERION THAT DEFROSTING IS STARTED WHEN THE INTEGRATED MEAN HEATING CAPACITY REACH A MAXIMUM. MOREOVER, A METHOD INDICATING THAT THE FROST CONDITION REACHES THE CRITERION OF DEFROST STARTING WAS STUDIED, AND HEATING CHARACTERISTICS WERE COMPARED WITH USUAL DEFROST CONTROL.
