THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS ARTICLE IS TO INFORM ABOUT THE CONCRETE DESIGNER'S CONCERN WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF STORAGE FACILITIES FOR LIQUEFIED ENERGY GASES. THE GENERALLY ACCEPTED, PRAGMATIC APPROACH OF THE DESIGNER IS BRIEFLY DESCRIBED, AS WELL AS WHY AND AT WHAT POINTS HE HAS TO CHANGE OR MODIFY HIS TRADITIONAL WORKING METHOD. THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF A FEW STORAGE SYSTEMS ARE DISCUSSED WITH EMPHASIS ON THOSE ITEMS OF CONCERN TO ALL PERSONS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SECURITY AND RELIABILITY OF STORAGE FACILITIES.
