A finite time analysis of a cascade refrigeration system using alternative refrigerants.
Author(s) : AGNEW B., AMELI S. M.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The performance of a three-stage cascade refrigeration system employing two different environmentally friendly refrigerants was examined with a view to determining the best combination of modern environmentally friendly refrigerants to achieve minimum power consumption for a given refrigeration capacity. The refrigeration system examined employed two stages on the high-pressure side and a single stage on the low-pressure side. The effect of overlap temperature and the efficiency of the compression processes feature in the analysis.
