Summary

Innovative cooling and heating systems which utilize sky radiation and borehole-energy storage units, and which do not contribute to global or urban warming, are proposed. Sample energy systems which are based on this concept are shown, including: a natural-energy autonomous house; heat emission from electricity-generating plant; dry rock/sky radiation cooling hybrid system for the engineering campus of Tohoku University; and borehole/solar seasonal energy systems for tall buildings and airport snow melting/air-conditioning systems.
