THE CONSTRUCTION OF A HELIUM 3 CRYOSTAT CAPABLE OF REACHING 310 MILLIK BY PUMPING OUT VAPOUR WITH THE AID OF CHARCOAL SORPTION PUMP IS DESCRIBED. THE PUMPING SPEED CAN BE PRE-CISELY CONTROLLED BY CHANGING THE SORBENT TEMPERATURE WITH HELP OF A HEAT SWITCH AND A SYSTEM FOR TEMPERATURE STABILIZATION.
