A magnetic field source system for magnetic refrigeration and its interaction with magnetocaloric material.

Author(s) : ALLAB F., KEDOUS-LEBOUC A., YONNET J. P., et al.

Summary

In this paper, different structures of magnetic sources are presented. The methodology specific to this application including the cooling capacity of active material parameter, the magnetic properties of material, the geometry of material and the magnetic cycle type (active magnetic regenerative refrigeration or direct) has been particularly established. The methodology consists in well-posed criterion dimensioning of magnetic field source based on analytical and numerical calculations. The forces for different magnetic cycles, the nature of the system (alternative or rotating), magnetic properties and shape of active magnetic material are also calculated.
