A NEW APPROACH TO DETERMINE OPTIMUM OPERATING PARAMETERS FOR MULTISTAGE REFRIGERATION SYSTEM.

Author(s) : PRASAD M., PRASAD R.

Summary

THE AUTHORS ENVISAGE A MATHEMATICAL MODELLING USING A REALISTIC APPROACH TO OPTIMIZE AN N STAGE VAPOUR-COMPRESSION REFRIGERATION SYSTEM BASED ON MINIMUM TOTAL COST. THE CONDENSING TEMPERATURE HAS BEEN TREATED AS DECISION VARIABLE THE EFFECT OF SUBCOOLING, SUPERHEATING, APPROACH AND COMPRESSOR EFFICIENCIES HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED TO MAKE THE RESULTS MORE RELEVANT FOR VARIOUS AMBIENT CONDITIONS AS WELL AS FOR THE YEAR ROUND VARIATION IN AMBIENT TEMPERATURES. THE PRESENT OPTIMUM INTERSTAGE PRESSURE IS FOUND TO BE HIGHER THAN THOSE REPORTED IN THE LITERATURE.
