Life-cycle cost analysis applied to selection of compression equipment for industrial refrigeration systems.
Author(s) : NEUMANN S. B., FENTON D. L.
Summary
Two-stage compression is commonly used in vapour-compression refrigeration systems operating at evaporator temperatures below -20 deg C. A life-cycle cost analysis is applied to several compression equipments. In the analysis, only the compression equipment is considered and the remainder of the refrigeration system is assumed identical for a given example. Results suggest that compressor electrical power consumption is the most important life-cycle cost.
