Summary
Research carried out for increasing the heat transfer coefficient of heat exchangers is summarized, including the one using a wire spring in the transfer tube. This method was first applied to a single-tube exchanger, and then to a multi-tube exchanger. Experimental results are given for an air-water exchanger with a heating surface of 6.3 m2, a diameter of 275 mm and a length of 2996 mm, with and without wires. J.L.
