Summary

This article presents a new series of compressors manufactured by Bitzer; these compressors are derived from previous series of semi-hermetic screw compressors, in the 192 to 250 m3/h range, with a built-in oil cooler and a variable-speed device that can be regulated for continuous mode or for 4 power levels. Power variation is achieved using a slide valve that modulated the suction rate and automatically adjusts the pressure at economizer level. The slide valve is operated by the pressure of the oil on a piston thanks to a series of magnetic valves that are driven according to the regulating conditions selected. The manufacturing characteristics and application fields of this new series are described and performances, noise levels at full or reduced speed are described.
