Summary
Using mass recovery process can significantly improve the adsorption heat pump (AHP) system performance. Mass recovery cycle has once mass recovery process and more use of mass recovery process can furtherly enlarge the cycle adsorption quantity. A cascade mass recovery cycle using multiple mass recover process is proposed and studied. A theoretical calculation of silica gel-water AHP using different cycles is performed and the results that cycle adsorption quantity of cascade (two-stage) mass recovery cycle is 0.235 kg/kg, which is 0.170 kg/kg larger than that of basic cycle and 0.030 kg/kg larger than that of mass recovery cycle, under the conditions of 90 oC heat source temperature, 30 oC heat sink temperature and 5 oC evaporation temperature. Besides, stage number of cascade mass recovery cycle is suggested to be less than 4 for convenient use.
