A NOVEL METHOD FOR CALIBRATING THE NONLINEARITY OF TEMPERATURE TRANSDUCERS.

Author(s) : HONG W.

Summary

SINCE THE CONTINUED FRACTION EXPANSION IS USED TO APPROACH A FUNCTION, THE METHOD IS CALLED RATIONAL INTERPOLATIONMETHOD (RIM). THE IMPORTANT EQUATIONS ARE GIVEN. THE METHOD HAS BEEN APPLIED TO CORRECT THE NONLINEARITY OF THERMOCOUPLES, THERMISTORS AND QUARTZ TEMPERATURE TRANSDUCERS SUCCESSI BECAUSE RIM HAS A GOOD CONVERGENCE FOR CALIBRATING THE NONLINEARITY OF THE THERMISTOR, IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET EXCELLENT CALIBRATION RESULTS BY CHOOSING HIGHER RIM ORDER. FROM APPLICATION POINT OF VIEW, COMPUTER CODE AND MAXIMUM ERRORS FOR DIFFERENT THERMOCOUPLES ARE GIVEN. SOME APPLICATION PROBLEMS OF RIM ARE DISCUSSED.
