Summary
An adsorption chiller using the working pair silica gel and water was modelled. Among the various parameters involved in the cooling capacity and the COP, the most important one is the switching speed. Then comes the number of transfer units of the adsorber/desorber. The model can be employed to analyze and optimize adsorption heat pump systems.
