Summary

Presents a study of Trombe walls for summer cooling of buildings. Illustrates the operations of such a wall for winter heating and summer cooling. Applies computational fluid dynamics to simulate the wall for summer ventilation with solar heat gain and conduction heat transfer. Findings showed that in order to maximise the ventilation rate, the interior surface of a Trombe wall should be insulated for summer cooling.
