Summary

Despite of the widespread use of scraped-surface ice-slurry generators, there is no clear understanding of the processes occurring in them. There are not enough publications to create a reliable and universal methodology of designing such apparatus. At the same time, there is a problem of improving of the efficiency of the generator in order to increase its competitiveness. In this article, we analyses the model of formation of ice-slurry in scraped-surface generators, based on experimental studies of heat transfer processes in the generator, and formulate design methodology of generators which based on research work. Design solutions for the enhancement of heat transfer in the generator were developed and their influence on the efficiency of the ice-slurry production were studied.
