A STUDY OF STEAM ABSORPTION INTO THE AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF LITHIUM BROMIDE USING HOLOGRAPHIC INTERFEROMETRY.

Author(s) : KASHIWAGI T.

Summary

AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS OF LITHIUM BROMIDE AT 40 AND 50% CONCENTRATIONS, SUBJECTED TO A WATER VAPOUR SATURATED ATMOSPHERE, WERE OBSERVED BY A SYSTEM COMBINING HOLOGRAPHIC INTERFEROMETRY AND THERMOMETRY FOR STUDYING THE DEVELOPMENT OF WATER VAPOUR ABSORPTION BY THE LITHIUM BROMIDE SOLUTION. THE INTERFERENCE FRINGES WERE ANALYSED FOR DETERMINING THERMAL AND MASS DIFFUSION AND THE DISTRIBUTIONS FOUND IN THIS WAY WERE COMPARED TO CALCULATED RESULTS, IN ORDER TO GIVE VALID MASS DIFFUSIVITIES WHICH WERE HITHERTO UNKNOWN.
