A toolkit for aiding the design and operation of an emergency ventilation system to control indoor released contaminant.

Author(s) : MA X. B., CAI H., LONG W. D., et al.

Summary

In emergency incidents due to indoor contaminant release, the emergency ventilation system plays an extremely important role to ensure occupant safety. To construct an integrated framework of emergency ventilation theory, we need not only to integrate each single theory together effectively but also to develop an integrated toolkit for aiding design and operation of emergency ventilation system. Based on the framework of emergency ventilation methodology, which was proposed in the authors' previous studies, this paper has developed a software toolkit, emergency ventilation aid toolkit (EVAT), on the platform of MATLAB 7.0. The practical applications show that EVAT is a powerful tool for guiding the design and operation of emergency ventilation system.
