Summary
The aim of this report is to show possible solutions for the removal of and reduction in hospital contamination in air and water, after examination of their onset and diffusion causes. With regards to air, some sensitive areas such as patient rooms, operating theatres and intensive care units are examined. Available technical innovations for supply systems and diffusers, their best adaptability and compatibility to activities and needs both for users and workers, as well as their efficiency in terms of ventilation quality and energy saving are considered.
