Type of article: Article

Summary

THE AUTHOR SUMMARISES THE BASICS OF THE ABSORPTION MACHINE, DESCRIBES THE CYCLE IN THE ENTHALPY-CONCENTRATION CHART AND COMPARES COPS WITH THOSE OF THE VAPOUR COMPRESSION MACHINE BY STUDYING THEM, ON ONE HAND, AT THE LEVEL OF THE INTERNAL CONDITIONS OF THE MACHINE (BEHAVIOUR OF REFRIGERANT AND SOLVENT), AND, ON THE OTHER HAND, AT THE LEVEL OF EXTERNAL CONDITIONS (BEHAVIOUR OF SOURCES IN CONTACT WITH THE MACHINE). THE PERFORMANCES, AFTER THE CARNOT CYCLE, OF THE ABSORPTION MACHINE APPEAR THUS LOWER THAN THOSE OF THE COMPRESSION MACHINE WHEN THEY REFER TO EXTERNAL CONDITIONS, WHEREAS THEY ARE SIMILAR WHEN INTERNAL CONDITIONS ARE INVOLVED.
