Summary

The author describes the absorption refrigerating machine designed in 1947 by B.M. Blier in which the supplementary saturation of part of the rich solution is carried out. This process has been called "reverse rectification" and the equipment in which it is made "reverse rectifiying column". The process is not adiabatic and takes place with heat removal. A calculation method for the machine by using the graphical relationship of the solution temperature at the outlet of the reverse rectification column and of the boiling temperature in the evaporator, is described. In the presence of two cooling media (air and water), the utilization of the reverse rectifiying column decreases the consumption of the heating fluid by 8 % and of cooling air by 8.3 %, for the same consumption of cooling water.
