Advanced adsorption refrigerator using a direct contact condensation and evaporation on vertical water jet.
Author(s) : YANAGI H., YAMANE K., KOMATSU F.
Summary
The heat and mass transfer on adsorption beds is decisive for the operational characteristics of adsorption refrigerators. To overcome its heat and mass transfer limitations, an adsorption refrigerator of silica gel/water pair using a direct condensation and evaporation of its refrigerant on a cooling and chilled water jet has been proposed, which gives a high heat and mass transfer coefficient so that the refrigerator could be expected to be made more efficient and compact. The paper reports the experimental results.
