Air change rate as a suitable criterion for design of air-conditioning systems in workshops?

Summary
Several standards and recommendations refer to air change rate for air flow calculation in the design of air-conditioning systems. Parameters such as air change rate and air flow must be studied to design air-conditioning systems in polluted workshops, and to determine if other methods are to be considered. The paper presents a design method which is not based on empirical data, but on the heat load and predicted levels of pollution.
