Air conditioning equipment efficiency.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The air conditioning industry has made great progress over the past two decades in improving the efficiency of its products. For unitary products, average efficiencies have increased some 50% in the last 20 years, and there still appears to be some room for added improvements. Centrifugal chillers have also seen rapid efficiency improvement; these appear to have pushed the technology close to its practical limit.
