Air-conditioning performances of ammonia refrigerating units.

Groupes frigorifiques fonctionnant à l'ammoniac : performances en climatisation.

Summary

Performance enhancement of ammonia refrigerating units at CIAT is done technologically, through: original design, special features in materials; and thermodynamically, through: exchange surfaces and coefficients, the choice of oil, the refrigerant charge. All of these determine the quality of the machines and, hence, their economic and technical success. In the experimental results presented here, a comparison can be made between ammonia and other fluids in CIAT machines under identical operating conditions. The paper concludes with a concise presentation of the CIAT line of ammonia refrigerating units.
