Summary
This paper introduces the history and features of the air-conditioning system for a hybrid vehicle mainly used for the Toyota Prius. The future work and direction of the system are also described. The second-generation Prius is able to improve the fuel economy and comfort level by being equipped with an electric compressor. The time when a heat pump system is equipped as a more efficient system may come in the future when the fuel economy of the hybrid vehicle has been further improved.
