Summary
Complaints can originate in air-conditioned buildings where air conditioning and ventilation systems can amplify and spread airborne microbial contaminants. Bacteria, viruses and moulds spread by mechanical ventilation can be potential disease agents in office buildings and houses. Prevention and control of microbiological hazards associated with the use of these systems constitute an important issue.
