AIR POLLUTION SOURCES IN VENTILATION SYSTEMS.

Author(s) : PEJTERSEN J.

Summary

POLLUTION SOURCES IN VENTILATION SYSTEMS OF 8 OFFICE BUILDINGS HAVE BEEN STUDIED. THE AIR QUALITY BEFORE AND AFTER EACH COMPONENT IN THE VENTILATION SYSTEM WAS EVALUATED IN DECIPOL BY A PANEL OF TRAINED JUDGES. THE PERCEIVED AIR POLLUTION INCREASED ON AVERAGE 0.8 DECIPOL AS THE AIR PASSED THROUGH THE VENTILATION SYSTEM (EXCLUDING DUCTS). IN THE INVESTIGATED VENTILATION SYSTEMS, THE FILTERS, THE ROTARY HEAT EXCHANGERS AND THE HUMIDIFIERS CONTRIBUTED TO THE POLLUTION OF THE AIR.
