Summary

An air quality simulation model including advection, diffusion and chemical reaction is described. Based on the three-dimensional urban air pollution model, photochemical ozone phenomena in Kanto area in summer and nitrogen dioxide in Kansai area in spring are discussed. Simulated result showed three-dimensional model is useful in clarifying the non-linear relationship between emissions, such as nitrogen oxides and non-methane hydrocarbons, and environmental concentrations of photochemical ozone and nitrogen dioxide.
