Summary

NOTES THAT FOR THE VENTILATION OF COAL MINES, DIFFERENT COMPOUND REFRIGERATION PLANT HAVE BEEN DESIGNED AND EVALUATED WITH RESPECT TO THEIR ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY AND COMPARED WITH AN ELECTRIC COMPRESSION INSTALLATION. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT THE ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION PLANT AS WELL AS A COMBINATION OF AN ABSORPTION INSTALLATION WITH AN ELECTRIC OR GAS TURBINE DRIVEN COMPRESSION INSTALLATION ARE NOT ECONOMICAL. OF ALL THE DESIGNS EXAMINED THE GAS-ENGINE COMPRESSION MACHINE LOOKS THE MOST PROMISING.
