DESCRIPTION OF AN APPLICATION OF THE HEAT PUMP TO A LOW LEVEL HEAT DISTRIBUTION NETWORK: 331 K (58 DEG C) ACHIEVED LIBOURNE, FRANCE, UTILISING THE THERMAL FIELD MADE UP BY AN EXISTING DRILL HOLE OF DRINKING WATER SUPPLIED TO THE TOWN: 250 M3/H AT 295.7 K (22.7 DEG C). AN ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF THE PLANT IS GIVEN, WITH A GENERAL DIAGRAM OF THE STATION, THE PLAN OF THE DISTRIBUTION NETWORK, A DIAGRAM AND THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A SUBSTATION. THE FINANCIAL SET-UP OF THE OPERATION, THE MANAGEMENT MODE AND THE ENERGY RESULTS OBTAINED ARE GIVEN. J.R.
