Summary
The paper illustrates energy features of the use of the new refrigerant R-1234yf in stationary chiller. A simulation of the working cycle of the R-1234yf chiller is done and a comparison with an R-134a chiller is carried out. The results allow to state that R-1234yf provides energy performance slightly lower than R-134a and that it takes advantage from the use of a liquid line-suction line heat exchanger.
