Type of article: Article
Summary
Presents an analytic solution for transient heat transfer in a composite wall subjected to explicit solar radiation and sinusoidal ambient temperature variations on one side and a fluid with constant temperature on the other side. States the method provides a transient response which eventually converges to the steady periodic response. Notes that the test cases have shown that the method is very accurate, robust, and numerically efficient for both transient and steady periodic responses. Presents case studies to show the utility of the method which provides an efficient alternative to purely numerical treatment.
