An experimental analysis of cycling in an automotive air conditioning system.
Author(s) : RATTS E. B., BROWN J. S.
Type of article: Article
Summary
This article describes the drawbacks encountered in automotive air conditioning, entrainment of the compressor by the vehicle's engine, leading to constantly variable speed that is not necessarily related to needs, and to constant on/off use. Thermodynamic analysis of losses is presented; this analysis shows that use of a variable-speed compressor meeting air-conditioning needs provides an optimal solution.
