An experimental study of heat transfer from a horizontal heated cylinder to air with water spray.

Author(s) : NG M. L., CHAU M. H., HSU C. T.

Summary

Experiments on heat transfer from a horizontal heated circular cylinder to air with and without water spray were conducted in a well-defined environment. Results of natural and forced convective heat transfer from the horizontal heated circular cylinder to air matched well with the correlations published in the literature. Enhancement in heat transfer with water spray over the surface of the horizontal heated circular cylinder was found to be significant.
